しゅれー拝所のあかぎ　（ Shuree Ugan no Akagi/Bishop Wood at Shuree Ugan）

このしゅれーうがんは、「スツウプナカ」（豊年祭）の「キダリ°の日」（三日目のおわり日）には祭事が行なわれ、字民の信仰も厚いウガンである。このうがんじょに、樹令２００年のアカギがあり、人目をひいている。このような大木は、村落の周辺のある御嶽や拝所にしか見られないので特に目立っている。アカギの付近には、１００年
余を超すフクギもあり、フクギを含めて天然記念物として貴重な存在である。また、しっかりと岩を抱いて立っており、人々の憩いの場所になっている。

 

 

Shuree Ugan is a place of worship where ritual has been practiced by devout believers in the ugan on the final/third day of the “Sutsuupunaka” harvest festival, called Kidari Day (the end of the third day). This 200-year-old bishop wood attracts peoples’ attention. It is especially eye-catching as this kind of huge tree grows only around these sacred sites. There is also a 100-odd years old common garcinia tree by this bishop wood; both trees are considered valuable as natural monuments. The bishop wood clings to the rock it grows upon, providing a place for people to relax.
